Living Absence // Cambodia (Nov. 2004)

This was the most phenomenal trip overseas for me.This was my first trip back to my birth country. I was invited to participate in a 3-week artist residency called The Mekong Project.


Pushing Through Borders // Ho Chi Minh City (Dec. 2003)

I received a grant from The Suitcase Fund of Dance Theater Workshop to create a collaborative installation and performance project in Ho Chi Minh City with artist Ly Hoang Ly. The project was a month long

 

Land of a Million Smiles // Thailand (Mar. 2003)

I was invited as a documenter for the first Mekong Project Artist Residency in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I also took this opportunity to visit my relatives in Bangkok.

 

POORVA // New Delhi (January 2003)

Poorva is the urdu word for sunrise. I was invited by Roberta Uno of The Ford Foundation to be part of the U.S. Delegation to the Asian Women Director’s Theater Festival/Conference in New Delhi.

 

Rediscovering Roots // Malaysia (January 2003)

I also took this opportunity to visit Malaysia where a majority of my family live. This was when I began to research my family tree to better understand the YahYoeu Geneology.
